How to check the timeload of your website?

Publishing date: 13-04-2011 - Copyright © Avadanei Andrei

We all know how annoying it is to just wait too long for a website to load. Some studies show that 75% of the people visiting a website that loads more than 4-5 seconds will not visit it again. I believe that the best method to check the time of your website load is to use several locations that comprise the niche in which they activate. Also, checking the timeload can be done manually too, by using certain extensions, such as Firebug for Mozilla Firefox that will tell you the timeload of the website page only for that specific site. This method would require your presence in several locations around the world. There are applications that will shorten this process by several clicks. You have as follows some of the best applications for these procedures that I also recommend.

Pingdom Tools

Pingdom  is a quite populat service for server and webstime uptime. Moreover, there is also a free service that measures the loading time of a website page. Pingdom Uptime will load the resources of a page ( HTML, CSS, Javascript, RSS, Flash, frames/iframes) and will display the timeload of each element. It offers rather complex statistics on the resources that make it last so long.

Webslug Loading Time Test

Webslug measures the timeload of a page, as users can tell. One of the advantages is that the system has an option by which two websites can be compared at the same time. Easy to use.

Internet Supervision Webserver Monitoring Tool

Internet Supervision is an application that allows us to check the website status from different locations of the world (simultaneously). It is a very useful application if we consider checking the status of the website from various locations, namely how the website reacts if users come from all these locations.

OctaGate Site Timer

OctaGate is an application very similar to the Pingdom Tools.

Website Speed Check

Website Speed Check is very similar to the Pingdom Tools application, but differs from the latter as it displays the average timeload information of different Internet connections. This information can come in handy in various situations.

WebWait

Webwait, a rather user friendly application that gives you the possibility to establish the average website visits.

Site-Perf.com

Site Perf, a very interesting application, with a very good precision. The application allows us to choose the number of requests, the sever for the check-up, the report etc. The results are more precise than using the Pingdom Tools.

I hope that these applications are useful and that you solve your timeload issues as Google takes this into consideration as well when indexing results.
